"Van's Chukka Boot Core Classic, Brown Suede...introduced, 2010 AD"

Van's has been my footwear of choice since 1968 when I switched from a favorite Sperry Top Sider blue deck shoe to what is now known as a 'Van's Authentic', a solid dark blue canvas lo-top deck/ skate shoe.  Van's big pitch in Surfer Magazine was that the extra tough canvas was "vulcanized to the rubber sole".
My favorite Van shoe is the Chukka Boot Core Classic fitted with SuperFeet Green trim-to-fit Insoles...they be like moccasins, yes!

                                 'suede leather, rubber, cotton'
The earliest known shoes are sandals dating from about 8000 to 7000 BC and found in Oregon, USA in 1938.

The world's oldest leather shoe, made from a single piece of cowhide laced with a leather cord along seams at the front and back, was found in a cave in Armenia in 2008 and is believed to date to 3,500BC.
