Ralph Waldo Emerson 1803-1882

Ralph was a 'champion of individualism' during his time, a real free thinker.  Every now and then I get a hankering to read his words and always come away quietly refreshed.  This is one of my favorite lines he penned and my current state of mind mirrors the quote's flavor:

"Days come and go like muffled and vague figures, sent from a distant friendly party; but they say nothing, and if we do not use the gifts they bring, they carry them as silently away."
